Go! News

Latest Update following Tesco's letter to TVBC as reported in the Andover Advertiser 17th October 08

GO!  has spoken to Goodman about Tesco's comments and we have seen the response that was issued to the local press.

Goodman states that the airfield site can and will only be occupied by companies that are willing to comply with the conditions and restrictions imposed by the Council on a planning consent.  There is no question seeking to revisit the conditions and restrictions at a later date.  They remain committed to delivery a quality business park for Andover that complies with the requirements of the Council's Local Plan.

We welcome Goodman's commitment to stand by the routeing agreement. This is a fundamental part of the planning application and must be enforced.

There are a number of other detailed issues which Goodman has said it will address. Like everyone else, we need to be satisfied that all of the commitments can be met.

In the meantime, GO! continues to support the principle of Goodman's planning application and will do our best to ensure it delivers the widest possible benefits for Andover - and as you will know,  ensuring that Andover benefits from this major investment opportunity is the main objective of GO!

The GO!  Campaign is holding a meeting at The Lights on November 6th at 7pm for its supporters.

GO!  will be presenting to its supporters full details of the Andover Airfield proposal, and a comprehensive view of another successful Goodman developed mixed-use business park in the UK. This useful comparison will demonstrate a business park of warehousing, quality office space, starter and high-tech units, and hotels - just as is proposed for Andover.

Because of the volume of interest shown, tickets for this event will be available in advance.  These may be obtained from Denise McAllister at The Cabin Cafe, 34 Bridge Street, Andover. (phone 01264 336877 or 07798 577522)

GO!  will also be back on the market on the Saturdays of 25th October and 15th November which will give us further opportunities to meet and chat with folk about this great opportunity for the town, and encourage support.

GO! Campaigners set out their stall  at Andover Market

It was a cold and bluster day when the GO! pitch was set up on Saturday October 4th – but that didn’t stop over 600 people stopping and giving the campaign their support

Thank you to all who gave us their support.

Wednesday 24th September 2008

The public Launch Meeting of GO! Campaign on 24th September 2008 was held at The Station Hotel, Andover.

The meeting was arranged at short notice after the Planning Committee decision on 1st September, yet was  still attended by 60+ supporters of the Andover Airfield Development.

The first of 5000 postcards in support of the development were distributed at the meeting.

Thank you everyone who came along and gave the campaign the belief that the silent voices in Andover were ready to be heard!
